Tamron SP Adaptall-2 2X Tele-Converter Model 200F Lens

Tamron SP 2X Tele-Converter Model 200F: Tamron also produced the very rare SP 2X Tele-Converter Model 200F. The 200F converter can be used with Tamron's 135mm F/2.5 model 03B, all manual focus SP 300mm F/2.8 lenses, SP 300mm F/5.6, SP 400mm F/4, Adaptall and Adaptall-2 70-350mm lenses, SP 200-500mm F/5.6, Adaptall 200-500 F/6.9, plus the SP 350mm F/5.6 and SP 500mm F/8 mirror lenses. The 200F converter can not be used most other Tamron lenses since the converter's front element will come in contact with the lens's rearmost element when you try to attach the converter**. Tamron specifically designed this converter for professional photographers who use any of the aforementioned lenses which this converter is compatible with. The optical design is basically a "stretched out" version of the 01F design and uses high diffraction glass. The result is superb off-axis performance even when the master lens is used at its widest aperture. Off-axis image quality, depending on the lens, is approximately 35% to 50% better than with the model 01F converter. In other words, the corners of the image are noticeably sharper when using this converter versus the 01F model.

** We eventually will test which other Adaptall and Adaptall-2 lenses are compatible with this converter and list these compatible lenses. The test is simply to see whether or not the converter's front element will come in contact with the rear element or baffle within any given lens.
